Amazon's new eero Max 7 features an all-new design with Wi-Fi 7 speed.

At the Amazon Devices & Services Event today, Amazon announced its latest eero mesh router with Wi-Fi 7 and 10 Gigabit Ethernet support.

In addition to being the first mesh Wi-Fi system to support Wi-Fi 7, the eero Max 7 is the company's fastest and most powerful eero to date.

Like previous eero devices, it uses eero's patented TrueMesh networking technology to dynamically route data over the fastest paths on the home network, limiting interference while ensuring fast, reliable connections in every room in every room while limiting interference. But with Wi-Fi 7, eero Max 7 can deliver up to twice the wireless throughput of eero Pro 6E over a wider range. [With Wi-Fi 7, the eero Max 7 delivers speeds of up to 4.3 Gbps wirelessly and 9.4 Gbps wired. eero Max 7's one pack covers 2,500 square feet, and the three pack covers up to 7,500 square feet.

Unlike Google's Nest WiFi Pro, one of the best things about Amazon's eero devices is that they are backward compatible with all devices. even though the eero Max 7 uses a new wireless standard, older eero devices like the eero Pro 6E and eero Pro 6. This means there is no need to throw away old mesh routers, which can be used to further extend the coverage of existing mesh networks.

If you are interested in upgrading your ISP's current plan to take advantage of the Internet speeds available with multi-gigabit Internet, you are in luck because the eero Max 7 has all the ports you need. Gigabit Ethernet ports, plus two 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports. Of course, you'll likely need to upgrade to one of the best cable modems as well, and then your home network will be ready to take full advantage of Wi-Fi 7.

Amazon also positions the eero Max 7 as a hub for all good smart home devices, with Zigbee radios built into each unit and support for Matter to make it easier to quickly connect new devices. The company's latest mesh router also functions as a thread border router, allowing each eero Max 7 device to support up to 200 connected devices simultaneously.

The eero Max 7 will be available soon for $599 for a 1-pack, $1,149 for a 2-pack, and $1,699 for a 3-pack.
