Amazon Fire TV Soundbar, an inexpensive and easy solution for better audio

On stage at a private event at Amazon's new headquarters, Daniel Rausch, Vice President of Alexa & Fire TV, introduced a new two-channel soundbar, dubbed the Amazon Fire TV Soundbar, offers simple pairing and Bluetooth audio with Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick.

Rausch did not go into depth on the details of the soundbar, but gave a rough size (only 24 inches long) and said it was developed to work seamlessly with Amazon Fire TV devices.

As for pricing, the soundbar will sell for $119 and should be available for purchase after the event, starting September 20.

We don't want to condemn an audio product before we've had a chance to hear it in action, but Amazon seems to be targeting the budget end of the audio market with its new Fire TV soundbar.

Unfortunately, the Fire TV Soundbar does not come with a separate subwoofer, and while it supports DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Audio, there are no up-firing speakers for Dolby Atmos.

Again, since this is just a $119 soundbar, it is unfair to demand that all specs be supported, but it is worth highlighting the cost savings factor.
