5 Comedy Movies to Watch Now on Hulu

Hulu is a comedy destination when it comes to movies, TV shows, and original content. The streaming site doesn't even frame itself. Whether you're looking for nihilistic romantic comedies, unlikeable protagonists, or wholesome (and not-so wholesome) family movies, Hulu has you covered.

This streaming service is binge-watching heaven, allowing you to stream any movie or TV genre you want to watch. From Hulu originals like "Palm Springs" and "Not Okay" to classics like "Meet the Parents," here are Hulu's best comedy movies you can stream right now.

Palm Springs isn't your grandma's time-loop movie; the 2020 Hulu original is a modern take on the age-old tale of repeating the same day. Palm Springs is more concerned with addressing the meaning of existence than delving into how someone can pour compassion into their lives. The film relies on science, rather than cosmic games of chicken, in developing its dark romantic comedy story.

"Saturday Night Live's" Andy Samberg stars as Nyles. Meanwhile, Christine Miloti plays Sarah, and the two characters fall in love at a wedding. Palm Springs also features a great secondary cast, including Tyler Hoechlin, J.K. Simmons, and Peter Gallagher. Director Max Barbakoff co-wrote the screenplay with Andy Shearer.

Not every family movie needs to be a wholesome tearjerker; We're the Millers puts a chaotic spin on the family film.

It's an old story: a drug dealer (Jason Sudeikis) teams up with a stripper (Jennifer Aniston), a homeless teenage girl (Emma Roberts), and a nerdy teenage boy (Will Poulter) to pose as a very normal American family and cross the border to They smuggle drugs. Add Ed Helms as a drug lord, and you have a pretty epic comedy.

Raise your hand if you're not a fan of the tag team of Dylan O'Brien and Zoe Deutch (and by not a fan, I mean very much); the two first worked together in the film "The Outfit" and then moved on to Hulu's original "Not Okay" and moved on to the Hulu original "Not Okay". Let's be frank: Even when O'Brien played an ancient demon in Teen Wolf, fans couldn't help but root for him modestly. But Colin is the absolute worst, and if O'Brien's fans find his character even remotely appealing, that's a truly remarkable feat. Similarly, the ever-charismatic Deutsch plays Dani, an aspiring writer who fakes being a victim of the Paris bombings. Yes, Dani sucks, too.

The story of Dani's rise from lowly photo editor to world-renowned author and face of the anti-gun movement is not a story of redemption. Some characters do not deserve redemption. And the fact that O'Brien and Deutsch can make us hate their characters so intuitively, given their usual fun and engaging energy, is a testament to their acting prowess.

"Meet the Parents" is an oldie but a classic, released in 2000, about the trials of meeting your girlfriend's parents--especially when she has an overprotective (and really scary) doting dad.

Ben Stiller plays Greg Fokker. He is a loving boyfriend with a last name that gets quite a few jokes throughout the film and its sequels. Meanwhile, Teri Polo plays Stiller's girlfriend, Pam Barnes. Other members of the Barnes family include Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner, Nicole DeHuff, and John Abrahams. Naturally, the film has some dated humor (it is, after all, over 20 years old), but it still makes for a fun family film.

If you're looking for a workplace rom-com, "Hating Game" is for you. Based on Sally Thorne's book of the same name, the film takes the enemies-falling-in-love trope and turns it up to 11. The film focuses on book-publishing colleagues Lucy Hutton (Lucy Hale) and Joshua Templeton (Austin Stowell), and their chemistry is as palpable as their fake hatred for each other.

Naturally, this is not a "get lost in the plot" type of film. The film delivers on its promise of sultry hijinks, workplace feuds, and a series of "wait, I actually like you" moments between the two leads. Of course, they only fight with each other.
