iPhone 15 Rumors End Last Hopes for 2TB Model

The iPhone 15 launch event is just hours away, but last-minute rumors are still flying around the web, and a recent report from MacRumors confirms recent rumors about the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

There have been several rumors that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will have increased storage compared to previous versions. Specifically, the maximum capacity will go from 128GB to 256GB and the maximum capacity will be 2TB, double the current capacity. Recently, however, these rumors have been refuted by several sources, the latest of which is MacRumors.

Despite rumors that a 2TB iPhone 15 Pro may be in the works, MacRumors claims to have seen no evidence that it has been considered. Similarly, the site claims that all iPhone 15 storage options will be identical to those of the iPhone 14.

MacRumors also claims that the iPhone 15 Pro will use the same LPDDR5 DRAM found in the iPhone 14. Apple also reportedly tested 6GB and 8GB models, but it is unclear which option Apple chose for the final production model.

We also heard speculation that the amount of RAM in the iPhone 15 may depend on storage capacity. In other words, the larger the storage capacity, the more RAM will help power your phone. This is something other cell phone companies have been doing for years, but so far it hasn't happened with the iPhone.

And again Trendforce recently reported that we would see 8GB of RAM on the iPhone 15 Pro, so the phone might get that rumored memory boost. At this stage, we won't know for sure until the iPhone 15 is released and Apple reveals key specs. Even if RAM is hardly one of the specs Apple likes to talk about.

8GB of RAM may go a long way on the Pro models, however. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are expected to feature the new A17 Bionic, built on a 3nm process. This smaller size could improve energy efficiency and performance. And with the addition of 2GB of RAM, the two models could be unstoppable.
