As we ring in the New Year, enjoy a movie binge: choose the new shows and movies you want to watch this weekend before or after the New Year on Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming services.

Leading the weekend's TV lineup are the "Money Heist" spinoff "Berlin," more outlandish antics from "Letterkenny" season 12, and the "Slow Horses" season 3 finale. Of course, you can count down to 2024 with "Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve" featuring Ryan Seacrest.

On the film side, Denzel Washington closes out the action franchise with The Equalizer 3. Check out this weekend's highlights.

This prequel to Money Heist brings Berlin's (Pedro Alonso) mysterious past to the forefront. The story follows the protagonist's early escapades as he plans a heist for a $44 million jewelry heist that will lead him to cybersecurity expert Keira (Michelle Jenner), Berlin's ally Damian (Tristan Ulloa), thrill-seeker Cameron (Begoña Vargas), locksmith and faithful accomplice Roy ( Julio Peña), and gadget and weapons expert Bruce (Joel Sanchez), all of whom are excellent criminal associates with their own unique expertise. Together, they join forces to pull off a jewel heist against incredible odds. - BV

The New Year always brings change, but one thing never changes. And the ever-present Ryan Seacrest. This year, he will once again broadcast the countdown to midnight live from Times Square. Seacrest will co-host the event with Rita Ora and appearances by Meghan Sze Stallion, Jelly Roll, Sabrina Carpenter, and Tyra. Jeannie Mai will host in Los Angeles, with Aqua, Doochie, Ellie Goulding, Green Day, Janelle Monae, Loud Luxury x Two Friends with Bebe Resha, Ludacris, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Paul Russell, Rene Rapp with Coco Jones, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and others will perform. - KW

This long-running Canadian sitcom gained new audiences when Hulu brought it to the US in 2018 and has since become one of Hulu's signature shows It has become one of Hulu's signature shows, recently joined by the spin-off series "Shoresy"; it is rare for a streaming show to last 12 seasons, and "Letterkenny" is coming to a close with a dedicated fan base.

The show, about a group of friends living in rural Ontario, Canada, has been popular across borders while portraying Canadian culture in a funny and perhaps distorted way. All episodes of the twelfth season premiered at once, and while there will likely be a special final farewell, the season announcement promises business as usual, with the characters battling smaller-scale storylines such as comedy nights, country music hits, and a new nightclub. - JB

If you're not in the mood for holiday cheer, comfort, or joy, Ricky Jarvais' provocative, profane, and often offensive latest comedy special. In Armageddon, he discusses the end of humanity, artificial intelligence, and family weddings and funerals. Gervais is well known at this point. - KW

One of the best shows on television closes out its best finale and best season yet. When they left the Slow Horse, they were all in the soup. River (Jack Cartwright) and Louisa (Rosalind Eleazar) were faced with a surprisingly large group of men with guns. Shirley (Amy-Fyon Edwards) and Marcus (Khadif Karwan) are in much the same position. And Katherine (Saskia Reeves) and Jackson (Gary Oldman) have an unidentified visitor approaching. Roddy (Christopher Chang) may be the only one to save the day. But if anyone can rescue them from the rough waters, it is Jackson Lam.

Three years after her Academy Award-winning debut, Promising Young Woman, Emerald Fennel has taken pen (or perhaps laptop) in hand and written one of the creepiest She has penned one of the most eerie psycho-thrillers I've seen in a long time. Saltburn tells the story of an undergraduate student at Oxford University in the early 2000s. He is born into a wealthy family, befriends a classmate with a commensurately aristocratic antisocial streak, and spends his summer vacation at the family's mansion. Along with great performances by Barry Keoghan and Allison Oliver, this is a must-see satirical and extravagant story that exposes a dark side that is slowly being peeled away. - JE

Almost 20 years after Sideways, director Alexander Payne teams up again with Paul Giamatti to create a drama set in a 1970 New England boarding school. Paul Hanham is a well-heeled classics teacher who is disliked by both his students and the principal. He is forced to stay on campus during Christmas break to supervise a handful of boys who have nowhere else to go. As the days pass, he forms an unlikely bond with the smart but troubled Angus Tully (Dominic Cessa) and the grieving school cook (Davine Joy Randolph). Paul will never forget this holiday.

Denzel Washington's vigilante is back. Robert McCall, a retired U.S. Marine and Defense Intelligence Agency agent, is wounded in a violent encounter with the Sicilian Mafia. Shot in the back, he wakes up in an idyllic small town on the Amalfi Coast. Robert meets Gio Bonucci (Eugenio Mastrandrea), a police officer, and Enzo Alicio (Remo Girone), a doctor, who help him. As he recovers, he befriends the locals and grows attached to the town. But when mafia henchmen begin harassing the community, Robert demonstrates a rusty but formidable special ability to protect his new home. - KW
