The year 2023 is coming to an end, but television is not, with new shows airing this week on Netflix, Disney Plus, other streaming services, and on broadcast and cable TV.

New programming this week includes the series premiere of "Percy Jackson and the Gods of Olympus," the anthologies "Marvel's What If..." and the second season of "Dr. Death" will be included. In addition, Chip and Dale will have new adventures in holiday episodes.

A little over a week after stepping down as host of "The Daily Show," Trevor Noah returns to his roots as a stand-up. He has launched his "Off the Record" world tour, and in this set, titled "Where Was I?", Noah shares funny stories from his travels, including derailing a sightseeing tour of Germany and getting a standing ovation in Paris. He riffs on everything from foreign anthems to different cultural norms.

It's time for an animated holiday special. Chip, a worrier, and Dale, a cool-headed dreamer, are an odd couple who are best friends but irritate each other. As Christmas approaches, the two are eager to add to their acorn stash. But as usual, their drive makes things crazy. With the help of Pluto, Donald, and other Disney characters!

Premieres on Disney Plus on December 20 at 3:01 a.m. ET

Rick Riordan's best-selling book series, which has already been adapted twice, is coming to television. This is essentially a complete reboot that is more faithful to the novels. Percy Jackson (Walker Scovel) is a 12-year-old boy who discovers that he is the son of Poseidon, a modern-day demigod. As he is about to embrace his newly awakened divine powers, Zeus (the late Lance Reddick) accuses Percy of stealing a lightning bolt. Percy, along with Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), daughter of Athena, and Grover (Aryan Simhadri), a satyr, set out on a journey to find the lightning bolt and restore order to Olympus.

Premieres on Disney Plus on December 20 at 3:01 a.m. ET

Based on the podcast of the same name, the true-life anthology adapts the latter's third season about the horrific acts of charismatic surgeon Paolo Macchiarini, the "Miracle Man." Renowned for his innovative surgeries, Macchiarini (Edgar Ramirez) attracts the attention of investigative journalist Benita Alexander (Mandy Moore). As she produces a news special highlighting his research, Alexander begins to wonder how far this doctor is willing to go in the name of research and whether he is hiding a dark secret.

Premiered on Peacock on December 21 at 3:01 a.m. ET

This animated anthology captivated fans by exploring an alternate timeline of the multiverse due to key moments in the MCU films occurring in different forms, and may be one of Marvel's more successful shows may be one of the most successful. As it is the holiday season, the second installment will be presented over nine nights, with a new episode each night. Watchers will lead viewers through the MCU's new and old faces, with MCU stars reprising their iconic roles. If... What if Nebula joined the Nova Corps? What if Happy Hogan saved Christmas?
