New features of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra could include on-screen search and smarter voice recording.

New features of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra have been revealed by leaker Ahmed Qwaider.

For example, according to Qwaider, one of the features that will be added to the Galaxy S24's feature set is the ability to circle items on the screen and search for them. This seems to be a similar or perhaps the same feature that was in the Android 14 QPR2 beta, so perhaps Samsung got the base code from here; one would assume that something would need to be enabled before circling an object, like calling the Google Assistant. Sounds like a great feature that streamlines something that many users will encounter in their daily cell phone use.

Besides, Samsung's voice recorder app could have an upgrade that would allow it to differentiate between up to 10 speakers when recording a conversation. Google Pixel users already have an excellent recorder app that serves much the same purpose, but if Samsung can make good use of this upgraded feature, it could beat Google when it comes to transcription.

In another tweet, Qwaider also explains how the phone will be able to write a sentence of text based on a prompt and then further summarize it. Also, the Single Take feature, which allows users to take multiple types of photos and videos with a single tap of the shutter button and organize them later, appears to work with up to 10x zoom. Since the Single Take on the Galaxy S23 series only works at standard magnification, the new model will be able to use a telephoto camera, making it much more versatile.

All of this joins other features we expect as part of Samsung's One UI 6.1, including AI wallpaper generation, photo editing, note summarization, and in-call translation. We have heard that Samsung will be pushing hard for AI smarts in the Galaxy S24, with its Samsung Gauss-generated AI model, and from what rumors tell us when the phone will launch and sell, there is certainly a lot of new AI-powered stuff to shout about. We just hope this doesn't come at the expense of updating other key features like cameras and displays. [The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Ultra are expected to launch early next year, with the most specific rumors calling for a January 17 release date. Whenever they launch, we will dive in to try these features (assuming they are a) real and b) launched) as soon as we get our hands on samples.
