Our favorite flip phone has been given a new lease of life.

Motorola's Razr+ was a foldable flip phone that caught the eye earlier this year with its larger cover screen, vegan leather case, and improved camera and battery life. Now, the Razr+ is even more eye-catching, with an all-new color option.

Starting next week, Motorola will sell the Razr+ in a new color called Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz. According to a joint statement from Motorola and Pantone, the new color features a peach hue "with a cozy, gentle essence that embodies togetherness, community, and collaboration," joining the current color options of Infinite Black, Glacier Blue, and Viva Magenta. Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz has also been named the 2023 Color of the Year by the Pantone Color Institute.

In fact, this is the second consecutive year that the companies have partnered on this design coordination. The two companies say the partnership is intended to allow customers to "express" themselves with device colors that fit their aesthetics. However, the partnership focuses only on the color of the device and does not bring any new features or components to Motorola smartphones already on the market.

Not that the Razr+ was lacking in new features: the Razr+'s main camera doubles as a viewfinder when taking selfies, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset delivers strong performance, and the phone is solidly built with no visible gaps when closed. The phone features a solid build with no visible gaps when closed. These factors make the Razr+ one of the best folding phones of the year, beating out the Galaxy Z Flip 5, a device that mimics the flip phones of a generation ago.

In other regions, including the UK and Australia, the Razr+ is sold as the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra. This model is also getting the Peach Fuzz treatment, as is the Motorola Edge 40 Neo, a mid-range device sold in Europe for €399.

The Razr+ was $999 when it debuted in the US earlier this year. (The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra is £1,049 and A$1,499 in the UK and Australia, respectively.) Currently, U.S. shoppers can get the Razr+ for $699. We expect this $300 discount to be extended to the Peach Fuzz version of the phone when it becomes available.

Motorola's Peach Fuzz handsets will begin shipping on December 12. They can be pre-ordered on Motorola's website. We suggest pre-ordering it while singing the Peach song from the Super Mario Bros. movie.
