Samsung "Galaxy S24" Leak Reveals the Full Story - Including Complete Design

Windows Report recently posted leaked photos and specs of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, confirming important details such as a titanium frame and flatter screen. However, it is not only Samsung's top-of-the-line model that has been revealed, but also important details about the regular Galaxy S24 and its Plus variant have been reported.

First, as can be seen from the header image, not much has changed in terms of design. The triple camera array is still shaped like a traffic light, and only the slightly lower position of the flash suggests that these are different phones. The sides appear to be slightly flattened, but this is difficult to determine from a single photo.

This photo shows three of the four colors that Windows Report says the handset will come in: marble gray, cobalt violet, and amber yellow. It does not require a great deal of imagination to imagine how it might look.

Inside, the changes appear to be relatively minor overall. First, there is a new chipset: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for the S24 Plus, Exynos 2400 for the regular S24. However, it appears that Exynos may only be used in certain regions, especially since Windows Report is based in Romania, where Samsung has historically skipped Qualcomm.

Most specs, including the camera, are said to be unchanged, but the S24 Plus is listed as receiving three significant upgrades, all of which we've heard before. The screen will be upgraded to a QHD+ panel, 4GB RAM will be added by default, and the battery will be 4,900mAh. All of this closes the gap between the Plus and the Ultra, but that may not be reflected in the price yet.

Perhaps the most interesting part of this report is the confirmation that the fancy AI features are not simply exclusive to the S24 Ultra. In fact, improved cooling performance is highlighted as a key upgrade for both models, with steam chambers expanded by a factor of 1.5 and 1.6 to accommodate the increased processing demands that artificial intelligence brings.

The report goes into a bit more detail about the kinds of AI tricks we can expect to see as artificial intelligence powers "various apps and features." For example, a translation app already in development supports "more than a dozen languages" and generative AI "helps edit and improve photos."

AI will also bring "enhanced search capabilities," the report says. It will be able to highlight parts of an image and find additional information via Samsung's AI.

While the internal specs of the two handsets appear to be much closer to their predecessors than the Ultra, Samsung could make a case that not much needs to change. The Galaxy S23 family is one of the best Android phones you can buy. Perhaps all it will take is a little AI magic for their successors to push them to the top of the list.

We'll find out when the S24 family is unveiled at an event in San Jose next month.
