December brings a slew of new shows on Hulu. The beloved Canadian comedy series "Letterkenny" ends after its 12th season, ending the era of one of Hulu's early hits. However, new shows are on the way, including the heist thriller miniseries Culprits, the British dysfunctional family sitcom Such Brave Girls, and the English-dubbed version of the popular Korean teen superhero series Moving.

December will also see new documentaries such as the LGBTQ chronicle We Live Here: The Midwest, about the struggles faced by queer residents of a conservative Midwestern community, and Nat Geo's acclaimed investigative documentary, The Mission. Recent theatrical releases "The Retirement Plan," "Blue Jean," and "Maggie Moore(s)" make their streaming debuts this month.

This limited series of murder mysteries is inspired by Agatha Christie and Christie-inspired filmmakers like Rian Johnson and Kenneth Branagh. These whodunnits always feature a detective, and this time it's Darby Hart (Emma Collison), a tech-savvy Gen Z hacker. She and her eight friends are invited to a retreat by a reclusive billionaire (Clive Owen), but when one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must use her deductive powers to find the killer before he strikes again.

Episodes 5, 6, and 7 will air in December.

This British crime drama about a group of criminals who pull off a daring heist comes after the heist itself, the main focus of most similar stories. Instead, they find their lives threatened by a mysterious enemy.

The former comrades, who have been trying their best to stay apart, must band together again to solve the mystery of who is after them, while doing their best to avoid being killed. The eight-episode series was created by J. Blakeson, best known for writing and directing the Netflix film "I Care a Lot," so viewers can expect the same dark sense of humor and cynical view of humanity. The cast includes Gemma Arterton, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Niamh Algar, and Eddie Izzard.

This Nat Geo documentary film tells the tragic story of John Chau, a Christian missionary killed in 2018 while trying to reach out to and convert the people of North Sentinel Island, one of the last uncontacted indigenous groups in the world The film explores the Filmmakers Jesse Moss and Amanda McBain examine Chau's story from multiple perspectives, including fellow religious missionaries, anthropologists, and other experts, in an effort to understand his motives without condoning his illegal actions.

While narrating the details of Chau's experiences, the film places him within the larger context of his past and present missionary work. Following a limited theatrical release that was critically acclaimed at film festivals and nominated for four Critics' Choice Documentary Awards, The Mission will make its streaming premiere on Hulu this month.

The long-running Canadian sitcom gained new viewers when Hulu aired it in the U.S. in 2018 and has since become one of Hulu's signature shows, recently joined by the spin-off series Shoalzie.12 It is rare for a streaming show to last for a season, and "Letterkenny" is coming to a close while remaining beloved by its dedicated fan base.

The show, about a group of friends living in rural Ontario, Canada, has been broadcast across the border with its amusing and perhaps distorted depiction of Canadian culture. All episodes of the 12th season will premiere at once, and while there will likely be a special final goodbye, the season announcement promises business as usual as the characters struggle with smaller storylines, including comedy nights, country music hits, and a new nightclub.
