In other Apple Pay-related news, the partnership with Goldman Sachs is reportedly coming to an end. The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple has asked Goldman Sachs to end the partnership within the next 12-15 months.

The dissolution of the partnership would likely result in a complete severance of the relationship between the two companies and would include Apple Card credit and Apple Savings Accounts. There are rumors that Goldman Sachs is in talks with American Express about transferring its Apple Card, but it is unclear what will happen to these two services. Synchrony Financial, the largest U.S. issuer of store-brand credit cards, is also reportedly interested in acquiring Apple Card,

and the company has been in talks with the U.S. Department of Commerce about acquiring Apple Card.

We will have to wait and see how this situation plays out, but users will likely be largely unaffected by this hypothetical partnership dissolution. At the very least, Apple Pay on cell phones is in the hands of Apple and existing credit card companies and will not be affected.
