Prime Video Cancels Three Shows - Here's What Was Canceled

Prime Video is a streaming service with plenty of hit shows and movies. From "The Boys" to "The Summer I Went Pretty," there is something for everyone.

Unfortunately, the price you have to pay for buffeting such a wide variety of content is the occasional cancellation. Three Prime Video shows have been canceled after brief airings.

Netflix just cancelled four shows, but there is usually so many new shows added to each platform that there is always something new to watch (although fans can be very outspoken when they want a show back).

This is a sentiment that fans of the three shows Amazon recently canceled will have to count on going forward, according to TVLine, from a popular dark comedy based on an off-Broadway play and podcast that went the way of the dinosaur after two seasons to romantic comedies, three Prime Video series have officially been canceled.

Which shows from the Prime Video lineup were cut from its, well, heyday? In this article, we will discuss the shows that were cut from the Prime Video lineup.

The Horror of Dolores Roach was cancelled after one season on Prime Video. Despite receiving a Rotten Tomatoes score of 80% from a combined 40 critics with mostly favorable critical reviews, it was cancelled without any explanation; it premiered in July 2023 and ran for only eight episodes until it ended its run.

A woman named Dolores Roach (Justina Machado) is released from prison after serving an unjust 16-year sentence. Returning to her newly gentrified home in Manhattan's Washington Heights, she reunites with an old friend named Luis Batista (Alejandro Hernandez).

There, she goes to live and work in Luis' empanada shop. But things go awry when she suddenly finds herself transformed into a serial killer and in need of a way to avoid going back to prison. Luis' solution? He hides Dolores' body and puts it in the empanada filling at his restaurant.

With Love was censored after two seasons on Prime Video; this romantic comedy, created by One Day at a Time's Gloria Calderon Kellett, ran longer than some of the shows that were censored, but ultimately suffered a severe fate to which it succumbed. Interestingly, the show received a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score from 13 critics combined and a positive response from viewers.

The series chronicles the Diaz siblings Lily (Emeraude Toubia) and Jorge (Mark Indelicato) as they strive to find love and their lot in life while navigating the ups and downs of being part of a very close-knit family.

Detailing a year in each sibling's life, the film explored a variety of different relationship dynamics, including LGBTQ+ representation and heartwarming feel-good moments between couples that did and did not work out.

Harlan Coben's Shelter is a mystery drama series based on the author's young adult novel of the same name. Like The Horror of Dolores Roach, it first aired in 2023, but was cancelled more recently in August. It scored a high 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, but fell victim to the Prime Video cancellation fiasco.

Shelter stars high school senior Mickey Bolitar (Jaden Michael), who is adjusting to his new life at his new school in New Jersey, but is faced with a dark mystery to solve. A classmate suddenly goes missing, and he must track her down.

While dealing with these strange events, he must also deal with his mother in rehab while mourning his late father.
