Sometimes it's easy to forget that Samsung isn't just a Galaxy Android phone or TV. They also manufacture laptops, as described in the latest leak highlighting the Samsung Galaxy Book4Edge. 

Notebook Check reports that two versions of Book4Edge have been found on the website of the Korea certification mark.2 The variations are 14-inch and 16-inch laptops, each with its own sub-version.

The 14-inch model has 2 model numbers, and the 16-inch variant has 4 model numbers. No more details, but I assume that the amount of RAM or storage is a different model. Currently, the 14-inch model has been modified to have 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD.

The rumored Samsung Galaxy Book4Edge is supposed to debut with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite processors. If it takes from other laptops in the Book4 lineup, it includes a large OLED touch screen, ultra-thin lightweight metal construction, a huge trackpad, combined with X Elite CPU and long battery life. Assuming the rumors are true, Book4Edge will be the first Samsung product to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite chipset.

In terms of design, the images we allegedly have about the laptop show that it has a design similar to Samsung's Galaxy Book4Ultra and Book4Pro, with a thin metal chassis and moonstone grey finish.

Price rumors have gone from 1,600 to 1,800 euros, orド1,740 andと1,957. To be fair, the tax and import differences between Europe and the United States will change their prices. In any case, this will put Book4Edge directly in competition with Apple's high-end MacBook Pro lineup. Qualcomm claims that the X Elite chip is almost 3% faster than Apple's M30 chip.

But with the recently released iPad Pro2024, Apple debuted a more powerful M4 chip. This is a quick turnaround from the 2023 M10, which was launched only in May 3. But the M4 has already surpassed the M3 on most benchmarks. Expect to see it on Mac laptops when Apple updates its lineup in the fall.

Microsoft has done everything to AI this year, reportedly putting Qualcomm's next-generation processors at the forefront of that push. For example, the latest Microsoft Surface computers are powered by Qualcomm. So it is not a real surprise that Samsung will follow it. Other OEMs have already started teasing AI forward laptops, including Lenovo.
