Google Nest Cams just got a major upgrade that will make your life easier.

Google recently announced that all Nest Cam features, including recorded event history and clip downloads, will be included in the Google Home for Web interface.

This cloud-based app, which replaces the Google Home smartphone app, will allow users to manage one of the best security cameras we've tested from more locations. However, until now this website only allowed access to the Nest Camera's live stream. If one wanted to see a record of the triggering of previous events, one had to use the app.

Now, through the Google Home for Web portal, one can manage feeds and scroll through event histories on a larger screen like a laptop or TV. This is useful for monitoring the property while working.

In the future, a picture-in-picture view will also be offered, allowing users to multitask and monitor different cameras. Keep in mind, however, that this is a feature that requires a subscription to Nest Aware.

The fee starts at $8 per month. Advanced features of Google's Nest Cam include Familiar Faces (notifications identify who activated the camera), 24/7 video history, and even garage door detection. This subscription makes one of the best smart home devices even better.

In the coming weeks, custom clips from recorded video will be able to be created both on the web and in the Google Home app. This will allow you to select a start and end time from any recording to make a clip.

This allows users to cut and share important parts of an event without having to share the entire length of the video. This support can be traced back to the first generation of Nest Cam, such as Nest Cam Indoor and Nest Cam Outdoor, which can be transferred to the Google Home app.
