7 Best "Walking Dead" Spin-off, Ranked

7 Best "Walking Dead" Spin-off, Ranked

Since its debut in 2010, "The Walking Dead" has become a very much loved franchise, and it has turned me into one of my biggest fans. It instantly captivated audiences with its intense action, realistic characters, and a post-apocalyptic world full of savage zombies (the right term that is pedestrian in the show)

The success of this series grew in the spin-off universe, each expanding lore and exploring new locations in this dystopian world. From prequels marking the beginning of the Apocalypse to stories of individual characters, these spin-offs are true to the spirit of the original series while also opening their own way.

So which spin-offs should you actually pay attention to? We found that based on their storytelling, character development, and overall impact on the franchise, the seven best "The Walking Dead" spin-offs

"Flight462" is a web series, a spin-off of the popular TV show "Fear The Walking Dead" and is itself "The Walking Dead." It is a companion series of "Walking Dead".This mini spin-off consists of 1 webisodes, each about 16 minutes long.

The story of "Flight 462" takes place on a commercial plane during the early stages of a zombie outbreak. As the infection begins to spread, passengers and crew have to deal with the terrifying perception that the undead are among them. The story focuses on the confusion and fear that occurs when a character tries to survive a flight.

It was actually well received for its suspenseful storytelling and effective use of the webisode format to provide a compact, thrilling story. But the acting isn't particularly great, so the series ranks lowest on our list, and it's easy to forget

"World Beyond" expands the universe of "The Walking Dead" with a focus on a new generation of survivors. It's a group of teenagers from the first generation to come of age in the Apocalypse, especially sisters Iris (Aliyah Royale) and Hope Bennett (Alexa Mansour) and their friends Elton (Nicolas Cantu) and Silas (Hal Cunston), leaving the safety of their community to embark on a dangerous journey across the country. Their mission is to find Hope and Iris's father, a scientist working on a potential cure for the zombie virus.

Unlike other spin-offs in the franchise, "World Beyond" presents the apocalypse from the perspective of a young character who grew up knowing only this world. And it's a very fascinating story, given that we've only seen adults navigate the Apocalypse.

But again, the acting isn't too much dialogue and isn't powerful enough to rank it high on our list, along with a few empty episodes involving brutal zombie action.

This will do something different by being an anthology series, so we move on to a really fascinating spin-off called "Tales of The Walking Dead." It offers a fresh perspective by exploring new stories and characters within the same apocalyptic world.

Each episode delves into different aspects of life during the zombie apocalypse while showcasing new characters and their struggles. But it occasionally features known characters from the broader "Walking Dead" universe, providing a background story or filling a narrative gap that didn't fit the main show. It's also something you can see without having to watch "The Walking Dead" and it's a full standalone spinoff.

As Brad Newsom of the Sydney Morning Herald said: "The old zombie still has a life. This anthology series brings many new faces and interesting one-off stories to a well-trodden walking dead dystopia.

My huge favorite should be "Dead City" purely for the "Resident Evil" vibe it emits. The spinoff centers on beloved characters Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they venture into post-apocalyptic Manhattan that has long been detached from the mainland.

Maggie and Negan's uneasy alliance is the focus because they must work together to survive despite past confrontations (have seen the main show The series does an excellent job in exploring their relationship as they navigate the dangers of a city teeming with pedestrian and unfriendly human factions

If you're a fan of the franchise that stuck to the show for years to the end (like me), you'll definitely make this trip to New York an effortless, fun series that throws 2 enemies into the same room and locks the door.

Creeping into the top Three, we have this highly rated spin-off series centered on the incredibly popular character Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus). It follows his journey after the main show, because he somehow found himself in France. When he meets Isabel (Clemens Poecie), she is on a mission to safely transport a boy named Laurent (Louis Puecci Sigrizzi) in exchange for her help.

Separated from his familiar surroundings in the United States, Daryl faces unique challenges and encounters new characters along the way, creating this new, unfamiliar character. You have to navigate through the terrain. This spinoff offers fans the opportunity to see Daryl in a different light, facing a new type of walker variant and human threatening his new friends.

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this spinoff. Daniel Fienberg of the Hollywood Reporter said it would "bring the franchise back to life," and I honestly couldn't agree more. Seeing the Apocalypse in a completely different place is also refreshing to see when we've always focused on the United States. Therefore, it won its place as the 3rd good spin-off on our list.

Now we're in two of the best spin-offs ever in this franchise. "Living Things" tells the story of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira), 2 of the most iconic characters of the "Walking Dead" universe

After being separated for a long time, the series finds each other and narrates the challenges of a post・apocalyptic world together. Explore their efforts to expand their business. You will learn more about their individual experiences during their separation and how those experiences have changed them. It's also the chemistry between Rick and Michonne that makes this spinoff so good after being taken away by CRM (Civic Republic Military), a mysterious organization that plays a key role in the larger "walking Dead" story.

Their devotion to each other makes the series feel so special because it's essentially an apocalyptic love story. "Living people" are sad, sinister and able to satisfy everything at once.

The trophy for best spinoff goes to the prequel series Fear The Walking Dead, which explores the onset of a zombie apocalypse from the perspective of a Los Angeles blended family. The series begins shortly before the events of "The Walking Dead" and provides insight into how society collapsed when the epidemic began.

Of course, characters struggle to survive and adapt as they encounter the rapidly spreading undead and other desperate survivors. That's exactly what you expect to happen in real life.

I put this spin-off first because it was interesting to see how the world completely changed in a few days, and it felt cold to watch. The Clark family, made up of Madison (Kim Dickens), Travis (Cliff Curtis), Nick (Frank Dillane) and Alicia (Alicia Debenham Carey), also make the show exceptional, simply portraying realistic people in a world that is falling apart.
