Beats by Dre Teases LeBron James and the new Beats Pill Speaker – here's what we know

Apple and Beats by Dre have finally confirmed a new Beats Pill speaker with a teaser video shared by X.

Rumors surrounding the previously discontinued Bluetooth speaker have begun to gain momentum in recent months. It was all caused by the appearance of a new beat speaker that Lebron James had before the May 4 playoff game. Then the speaker was seen with F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo.

The first image of the speaker was actually found hidden in the iOS17.5 beta. That leak suggested that the new speakers would come in red, gold, or black.

The latest teaser for Beats did not mention specifications, but many details were listed on the FCC list on the regulatory agency's website.

We haven't seen Beats Pill speakers since 2022, when Beats Pill+ was released. The 2024 version is supposed to increase the battery life of its speakers by 24 times in an estimated 2 hours.

Despite the weight reduction of 1.5 pounds, the new pill should be larger than the 8.6x2.8x2.8-inch version of 2022. Beats Pill2024 replaces the old USB-A and Apple lightning ports with at least 1 USB-C charging import and out port. The Find My Device integration should also work. The last 2 upgrades are what Apple has integrated into most of the company's devices.

One of the small features that didn't show up in the teaser, but we saw in LeBron James's previous leak, is the addition of a strap that pill+ didn't have.1 It's honestly a great feature for portable speakers, and it's amazing that it wasn't taken up in previous models.

Since 2022, competitors like Sony and Bose have released cheap and excellent portable Bluetooth speakers with UMS Field1 and SoundLink Flex. It would be interesting if Beats lowered theP230 release price of Pill+ to meet its competitors. If not, it will cost Bose399, but will be the recently announced SoundLink Max range from Bose, which sounds great and looks great.
