"You" Season 5: Everything We Know So Far

"You" Season 5: Everything We Know So Far

Hi, 'You'...The last rodeo for not. Yes, Netflix announced on May 3 that the "You" season has been updated for the final season and production of the show has begun in New York. This means Penn Badgley's Joe Goldberg will be creeping around the streets again, but hopefully it won't be long until that familiar voice is heard.

Joe's adventures require new or review. "You" is a psycho thriller series that delves deep into the heart of Joe Goldberg (Badgley) and is based on a novel by Caroline Kepness. Joe often gets to stick to the various women he encounters, using social media and technology to learn everything about them. When he manipulates the situation to approach these women, believing that he is acting out of love and protection, his infatuation quickly turns into compulsive behavior.

As Joe's actions become increasingly sinister, the show defies viewers to confront obsessions and uncomfortable truths about the length at which people go in the name of love.

So here's everything we know about "You" season 5, including its release date, cast, plot and more .

Unfortunately, "You" Season 5 does not have a specific release date other than sometime in 2024. This is still good news, but it's still good news given that we can get the trailer and see the first photo of Joe Goldberg in the coming months. What we know is that there tend to be gaps between seasons (about 18 months to 2 years), meaning "you" could land on Netflix at the end of the year.

Of course, everyone knows that Penn Badgley will reprise his role as Joe Goldberg again in Season 5. He had several aliases for years as a cover・up for his crimes, including Will Betterheim and Jonathan Moore. But in the season 4 finale, when he returned to his hometown of New York, he finally returned to his true persona.

Another confirmed cast member is Joe's girlfriend Kate, played by Charlotte Ritchie. After Joe admitted his crime, 2 people officially became a couple, and Kate surprisingly accepted it and moved with him to New York. She also has a lot of resources to help Joe live a normal life again and get his son Henry back.

Speaking of his son, the Digital Spy sees what looks like Joe, Kate, and the old Henry (Frankie Demaio) walking together.

It's also possible to escape Joe's ominous plans in Season 4, so that Tati Gabrielle can be seen in the movie, which is about to be released in March. There is also the possibility to see them come back as Lienne. She will probably come back to New York to put an end to Joe.

Here are some more confirmed cast members with the character names and descriptions provided by Deadline:

So far, that's all we know about the cast, but we'll update this page back when more is revealed in the coming months.

Well, the plot of "You" season 5 seems to be kept under wraps because there is no official synopsis. But we can thank Badgley for sharing some details with people about his character next season:

"I think that's what I want for Joe towards a bigger resolution. Because now the situation is actually different. He has a level of power and wealth that he has never had.

He also said: "In love (Victoria Pedretti), he technically had wealth and he was flanked by some power, but he hated it and now he seems to accept it and take it for himself." And to be honest, it's kind of a horrible prospect. He then added that it was "the evolution of the whole conceit.""

The end of Season 4 can give you a rough idea of what to expect. When Joe returned to New York with Kate, he accepted the identity of his killer. She knows his version of "Truth" about the whole ordeal with love during Season 3. And to anyone's surprise, Joe avoided the consequences of his murder in London for his framing Nadia (Amy Lee Hickman). But one person still knows about the real Joe, and that's Marienne. She could play a bigger role than ever in Season 5 when it hunts him down and reveals the truth to the world.

There have been some sneaky pictures circling the Internet when it comes to the new characters of "You" Season 5. The digital Spy has revealed a photo of Joe and Kate as mentioned above, but it's unclear what twins he and Anna Camp (who plan to play the Lockwood Twins) and she play in the photo, but she and Joe seem to have a deep conversation.

Camp also did us a favor and shared a behind-the-scenes photo of himself and Badgley on Instagram.

Even though we have some set pictures, we do not have any official images from Netflix. These will probably not come until the show approaches the end of production. But back on May 5, Netflix gave us its first official look as Joe Goldberg walked the streets of New York. And yes, with the beard gone, the titular character looks like his former self in Season 1. Come full circle, we are not.

In terms of trailers, don't expect to see it anytime soon. Netflix's Tudum teaser is the only thing we have right now, mostly involving Badgley alluding to what's coming, and saying, "When Joe finally returns to New York, he'll be thinking about what Joe will do and who he'll be fighting against."

He also reveals that the previous season's character could return to a grand conclusion: "There's a lot from Joe's past, but the problem is, ah"
